1975 SUZUKI FURY

Suzuki built several snowmobile models in the early seventies under the names of Nomad and XR. Despite having very good engines and often clever styling, they were never able to attract many buyers until 1974, when The Fury was introduced for the 1975 model year. Essentially an El-Tigre built by Arctic Cat under The Suzuki nameplate.  The Fury was nonetheless a popular sled that began to turn Suzuki's fortunes in snowmobiling around.  Suzuki, however decided instead to supply engines exclusively to Arctic Cat rather to continue in the competitive snowmobile market.

1975 SNOWMOBILE LINE-UP

The 15 different brands included here did not necessarily represent all the manufacturers who produced new snowmobiles for 1975. Rather they were the ones who indicated a continued commitment to the snowmobile business and on more than a regional scale.  There were several other companies who produced snowmobiles, but a timing problem did not allow their new machines to be included here.

SNOW CONDITIONS IN THE BLACK HILLS OF SOUTH DAKOTA

December 11, 2014 - SNOWMOBILE SEASON STILL AWAITING SNOW - Snowmobile enthusiasts will need to have a little patience this year.  Snowmobile trails in South Dakota are scheduled to open Monday, but trail officials are still waiting for snow.
"The Black Hills has seen minimal snowfall so far this season," Black Hills Trails district supervisor said, "Groomimg operations will be limited until we see additional accumulations."
While trails in eastern South Dakota saw significant snow accumulations in November, conditions have since deteriorated.
Current trails conditions are also available online at gfp.sd.gov/snowmobiling as well as on the SDGFP Outdoors mobile app. Trail condition updates are also posted to Twitter accounts dedicated to both The Black Hills and the East river trails: (www.twitter.com/SDsnowBHills and www.twitter.com/SDsnoweast)
